The red ale came in just a wee bit low at 1.072 OG, and it tastes and smells wonderful. It is a beautiful color and should be everything I'm looking for. I'll probably mix up the dry hops a bit to take the edge off the Columbus taste, but I still want it to be sharp and in the front of the brew. Brad came by for three hours to watch and take notes (he's starting brewing soon:), and Eric and Evan visited for an hour or so. All in all, it was a great brew day. Tomorrow we're off to Monterey to celebrate New Years Eve and New years Day at the city's annual First Night celebration. I'm looking forward to the events, and escaping my kids and hanging out with my honey and good friends! Life is good:) The brew day went well.
